Custom Pool Builder in Phoenix, AZ

Phoenix covers more ground and more kinds of backyard than anywhere else we work. The build below, Piedmont Road, shows how we handle a smaller lot without making it feel crowded.

Envy Pools is family owned, veteran owned, and has been designing and building custom pools across the Valley since 2018.

What We Build in Phoenix

Piedmont Road is a small backyard done properly, and that is the most common Phoenix brief we get.

  • A negative edge on a compact lot, which sounds like a contradiction and is not. It buys visual depth where there is no room for actual depth.
  • Sunken seating, so the usable area goes down rather than out.
  • A pergola to make the deck usable through summer.
  • A full transformation approach, treating the whole yard as one design rather than a pool plus leftovers.

Phoenix housing stock ranges from historic central neighborhoods to new build on the edges, so we design to the house rather than to a template.

Building a Pool in Phoenix: What to Expect

Pools are permitted through the City of Phoenix and we pull the permit as part of your build, then schedule around the City inspection sequence.

Two Phoenix specifics. First, access is the defining variable, more than anywhere else in the Valley. Older central Phoenix lots often have alley access, which helps, or a single narrow side gate between two houses, which does not. We look at that before we talk about design, because it can change what is buildable.

Second, if your neighborhood has an architectural committee, that approval is yours to request and it moves on its own timeline. We give you the drawings to submit. Historic district properties carry additional review, and that is worth confirming before you plan a start date.

Our Design and Build Process

Every project runs the same way, whether it is a plunge pool or a full outdoor living build.

  1. Consultation at your home. We walk the yard, check access, note drainage and sun, and talk through how you actually plan to use the space.
  2. 3D design. You see the pool in your own backyard before anything is signed, and we revise until it is right.
  3. Permitting. We pull the permit and keep you posted on where it stands. If your neighborhood needs architectural approval, we hand you the drawings to submit.
  4. Construction. Excavation through plaster, with your project manager as one point of contact rather than a rotating cast.
  5. Startup and handoff. We walk you through the equipment and the first month of chemistry so you are not guessing.

Why Phoenix Homeowners Choose Envy Pools

We are about ten people, so the person who designs your pool is still involved when it is being built.

If you are in Phoenix and thinking about a pool, a pergola, or a full backyard rebuild, we would rather walk your yard than send you a brochure.
