This Mockingbird Drive backyard in Queen Creek was built along the fence line, using the full length of the lot to give a modest yard the feel of something much larger.

A rectangular pool runs parallel to a raised stacked stone wall carrying three sheer descent waterfalls, spaced evenly so the sound follows you the whole way down the deck. The waterline is finished in a patterned blue mosaic tile that repeats on the round raised spa at the far end.

Travertine pavers wrap the pool and open onto a lounge area built around a rectangular gas fire pit filled with blue fire glass. Turf and plants surround you with greenery to soften hard edges.

The blue tile, the fire glass and the lit water all pull in the same direction after dark, when the three waterfalls light up against the stone.
